Congratulations and thanks to Gary!

Gary Blunt successfully completed the Virgin Money London Marathon on Sunday 24th April 2016 and managed to raise an incredible £737.50 in aid of Can You Hear Us? C.I.C! Here’s what he had to say:

“Well the London marathon , I’ve done it a couple of times in the past, but I have to say
that this was my most enjoyable one for a couple of reasons.
Firstly by taking part and completing the event I Gary finish lineknew that I would be raising money for a great organisation and a worthy cause and after attending the get together at the Tate, I got some idea of how the money would be spent. Secondly, although we were at different starts, I managed to meet up with my daughter Phoebe and run and finish together. Something I have wanted to do for some time but for a variety of reasons haven’t managed to do.
We completed the race in 4.52, which was only fractionally outside our target time of 4.45. Considering I fell and tore the ligaments in my ankle only three days before makes it a little bit more of an achievement.”

As a Community Interest Company (C.I.C), Can You Hear Us? exists to benefit the community rather than the individuals, who own, run or work within it. In this way, donors and users of services provided by a C.I.C will be investing in the on-going sustainability of the organisation.

CYHU would like to sincerely thank everyone who sponsored and supported Gary in his amazing efforts. The funds he raised will go a long way in helping CYHU to improve well-being, reduce isolation and enhance the UK NF2 community. And of course a HUGE thank you to Gary for taking on such a massive challenge in aid of CYHU – no easy feat for someone affected by NF2. Congratulations, Gary!!
