  • Full knowledge of the services provided by CYHU (volunteers will be invited to attend a short training session with CYHU staff, either online or face-to-face)
  • Basic sign language skills and the ability to lipread well (if needed) will improve your ability to take on this role
  • Able to lift boxes and equipment
  • Enthusiastic and positive nature

Description: The role of an Awareness Advocate is to help raise awareness of CYHU and our services by managing information tables at NF2 events. We are looking for eight voluntary Awareness Promoters – ideally two volunteers from each main centre hospital; Cambridge, Manchester, Oxford, and London. Volunteers will be responsible for: conversing with delegates and explaining/answering any questions about CYHU and our services; displaying information, merchandise, and promotional materials; handling and recording cash transactions through merchandise sales; researching promotional opportunities; building and maintaining the CYHU online presence.
